Jumping on the Bandwagon

ALRIGHT. As you can see from the title above, this blog has been renamed Mama Dalston. It should be quite self-explanatory, but if you don’t get it, I’ll spell it out for you: I’m a mum. And I live in Dalston. This blog is about me. THERE YOU GO.

Yes, I am unashamedly jumping on the bandwagon of mummy blogs – ADVERTISERS, THROW YOUR CASH AND FREEBIES AT ME, RIGHT NOW.

Nah, it’s not about that. To be quite honest, there isn’t much I do with my life these days other than explore everything that early motherhood has to offer, and well, explore the ever expanding Dalston DAYTIME SCENE (didn’t you know? Dalston nightlife is so 2010 – or so I heard, anyway.)

I don’t know many mums with the same interests as me that live nearby, so maybe this will be a way to find people going through the same thing. I’m sure i’m not the only new mum around here who still loves her creepers and reads Comics like a teenager. To be honest, I can’t wait for my ¬†daughter to become a teenager, so we can share purple lipsticks and Grace Jones records.

God, how sad am I.

Anyway, hope you guys enjoy it. Or whatever.

Ahoy !

Hey, peeps. This site, as you must realise, it’s under construction. Instead of being simply a showcase of my styling portfolio, it’ll be a hub for everything involving my virtual life: you’ll get links to my twitter, tumblrs, FB, blogs in portuguese and english, and obviously, my styling and journalistic work, which is spread out all over the place. And most of all, this will be the home of my – tchanam! – personal blog, because, you see, I’m not good at this whole work-life-balance thing. It’s all intertwined, a big blobby mess.

So bear with me while I clean-up the house. Before you know it, I’ll be inviting you in for tea and gossip.

Meanwhile, if you want to see any of my work or, I don’t know, be my friend, it’s easy -> ¬†tm@thaismendes.com or glittah@gmail.com
